Built by students,
for the community.
Chat for Change is a student-run nonprofit founded at Georgia Tech, dedicated to breaking down barriers between Atlanta’s unhoused community and the healthcare they deserve.
A conversation that changed everything
Chat for Change was founded by a group of Georgia Tech biomedical engineering students who recognized a simple but profound truth: preventative healthcare starts with a conversation — and too many people in Atlanta never get to have that conversation.
What began as a student initiative grew into a globally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit, recipient of the United Nations Millennium Fellowship — one of the most prestigious awards for student-led social impact work worldwide.
Today we host monthly events in Atlanta, bringing medical professionals, mobile clinics, and free resources directly to the people who need them most.

Our mission & values
Accessibility
Healthcare should not be a privilege. We work to remove every barrier — financial, geographic, and informational — that stands between people and the care they need.
Community
Health is built through relationships. We show up consistently, learn from those we serve, and treat every interaction as an opportunity to build trust.
Prevention
Early conversations save lives. We focus on preventative medicine and health education so communities can make informed choices before crises arise.
